Autumn 2025

Big Changes are coming to Village Acupuncture!

Carol specializes in pain management, mental health support, and child and maternal health.
She is excited to be part of the Village Acupuncture team starting in November. Her hours are still being configured, so watch the scheduling portal for her availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Carol looks forward to joining you on this road, whether for a short-time or a life-time.

Carol graduated with a Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM) from Bastyr University and is board certified through NCCAOM.

Her background in biology and chemistry help her bring the best of Eastern medicine (like acupuncture and herbal medicine, nutrition, qigong and tuina massage) and modern science to unlock your potential and achieve your health goals. She utilizes a variety of devices for biomodulation, including e-stim, gua sha, cupping, tuning forks and sound therapy, as well as light therapy.

As a supervisor in the Chinese Herbal dispensary at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, Carol also guides the next generation of herbalists as they explore the rich tradition and modern applications of Chinese herbal medicine.

In addition to working with students, she is committed to serving others and fostering change within healthcare. Carol is excited for the journey ahead with patients and professionals alike.

We’ll have some festive treats and warm conversations to welcome In the holidays!

Changes to Insurance & Billing

Village Acupuncture is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality care. However, recent changes within the insurance system have made it difficult for small, independent clinics to receive fair compensation for our time and expertise. Insurance companies now pay significantly less for services and may retroactively reclaim payments for treatments provided up to two years ago, creating uncertainty and financial strain for our clinic.

To ensure ongoing quality and sustainability, we will be shifting our payment structure. Cash prices for treatments will be updated, and we will gladly provide you with “super-bills” so that you may directly seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. If you have HSA or FSA cards, these remain a convenient payment option for your care, and we encourage you to utilize these funds if available.

We will continue to work “in-network” with Regence, First Choice, the Veteran’s Administration Community Care network, and PIP claims. For all other insurance providers, we will become “out of network.” This transition allows us to focus on treating a wider range of concerns, including emotional wellness, fertility, digestive health, and more—not just pain conditions dictated by insurer limitations.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we make these changes to better serve your health needs.

Our new payment structure will be posted in the clinic and will take effect In January 2026. Please call or email Info@acunerds.com If you have any questions. Bear with us as we get this sorted. We’ll continue to bill your insurance until we receive confirmation that we are out of network. Additionally, Carol is only credentialing with Regence, First Choice, and the VA. PIP claims are valid with any acupuncturist or provider.

Help us wish Chaiya “Good Luck” in her new endeavor!

Village Acupuncture wishes to share some bittersweet news regarding our team. Chaiya will be moving out of state for a new opportunity and, while away, will obviously not be seeing patients in the clinic day-to-day.

Chaiya has been invited to help establish acupuncture services at two locations in Chicago and is excited for this new chapter.

Although she will step away from patient care at Village Acupuncture in mid-December, Chaiya remains the owner of Village Acupuncture and continues to be an active leader in Seattle’s acupuncture community. She is dedicated acupuncturist for pain management, mental health, and fertility support. She plans to return to our community a few times throughout the year for family visits, teaching engagements, and to care for select patients as needed. In the meantime, she will continue guiding treatment plans for her patients remotely.

Chaiya will be transitioning all patients into the care of Carol Micek over the course of November and December, who will be available in the clinic three days each week so that everyone’s needs are met. If anyone would like referrals to other practitioners, please reach out.

We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all, and thank you for your trust and support during this time.
